Introducing the Seven Sisters Collection
Seven_Sisters_full_collection

We’re delighted to unveil the Seven Sisters Collection - a new seven-piece family of handcrafted ceiling lights inspired by the dramatic chalk cliffs of the Sussex coastline. Designed by our in-house team and handcrafted in our Sussex Foundry, the collection marries architectural precision with natural inspiration, embodying the essence of British design and craftsmanship.

Just a short distance from our Eastbourne Foundry lie the Seven Sisters cliffs - an iconic stretch of coastline where sweeping chalk formations meet shifting seas and skies. This elemental landscape, together with the bold geometry of the Georgian lighthouse that overlooks it, served as the starting point for the collection.

Each of the seven designs features a distinctive seven-sided form, a deliberate homage to the cliffs themselves. Fine reeded detailing recalls the chalk strata of the landscape, while glass panels capture the movement and texture of rippling water. The result is a collection that blends modern elegance with a deep sense of place.

Spanning a spectrum of silhouettes, the collection encompasses a variety of forms that follow the same design language, from jewel-like hanging globes and lanterns to refined pendants and flush mounts. Each piece balances sculptural strength with refined lightness.

Handcrafted in solid brass and available in our full suite of twelve signature metal finishes, each design can be further tailored through a selection of four distinctive glass types. Clear Ripple, as well as its pink-toned counterpart, Blush, catch and refract the light with a gentle fluidity, their surface textures recalling the shifting waters at the foot of the cliffs. For a deep green-grey hue, Moss brings an earthy richness that mirrors the windswept grass landscape atop the cliffs, whilst maintaining a striking clarity that lends itself to the pieces’ jewel-like composure. By contrast, Clear Reeded channels the dramatic geology found across the Seven Sisters, its horizontal detailing a refined echo of the layer chalk strata revealed along the cliff face. With suspension options in either a reeded brass rod or chain, the collection bridges contemporary refinement with timeless heritage.

With names inspired by remarkable women with connections to Sussex, the Seven Sisters collection celebrates both the coastline and the spirit of sisterhood. Each piece carries a name in their honour, shining a light on past and present trailblazers and allowing a story to unfold through personality and character. This narrative reflects our Sussex heritage while also echoing the values of Collier Webb today – a female-led company inspired by the achievements, creativity, and resilience of women across generations.

Brought to life in our Sussex Foundry and workshops, each design is the result of a close dialogue between our Makers and Designers, who continually refine and adapt the style throughout the creative process. From introducing opportunities for client customisation to developing varied silhouettes that follow the same design language, yet retain their individuality, the collection evolved through exploration and innovation. The final pieces are created using a considered blend of precision casting, machining and meticulous hand-finishing - a testament to our commitment to traditional craft, enriched by contemporary design, ensuring every lighting is not only enduring but captivating in its beauty.

“The Seven Sisters, and the surrounding natural beauty we’re fortunate to have on our Sussex doorstep, are a constant source of inspiration. Translating their forms, textures, and natural rhythm into a collection felt like an organic extension of our design process. We also wanted to challenge ourselves by creating a seven-sided range - a form rarely attempted in lighting design - as a way to showcase the full extent of our in-house capabilities and the exceptional talent of our team.”
