Conversation

We understand the importance of finding the right supplier for your project.

Discovering our capabilities, the materials we use and our previous projects is an important first step.

One of our design team can meet with you in person at one of our London showrooms, your own studio or via video call if you prefer.

Collaboration

Our bespoke process thrives on collaboration; the blending of skill sets of all of our team with our client’s creativity starts on day one.

Your concept can be supplied on paper or through conversation, we’ll offer guidance on appropriate materials, finishes and structure based on the proposed size and location of your bespoke piece.

Following this collaborative sharing of ideas, we will issue you with a detailed estimate outlining the design, dimensions, price and time-line.

Commission

On confirmation of your commission with us, your project manager – one of our experienced designers will begin developing your design. Our design team are based at our South Coast Foundry, enabling them to work closely with our craftsmen and engineers at design stage to establish how best to achieve the desired aesthetic of your piece.

Your designer will create a highly detailed model of the bespoke lighting or furniture piece in 3D CAD software. Each element is considered, even down to the nuts and bolts. This diffuses any potential future issues once the piece goes through to production.

At this stage your design may also require 3D printing. For door handles or objects that are particularly difficult to understand on paper, it can be beneficial for us to show our client a 3D print. We also have an in-house pattern-maker on hand for pieces that are more suited to being modelled or sculpted.

Approval

Once the CAD, 3D printed model or pattern has been developed they will be sent to you for approval. You will also be sent the relevant material samples to approve, these may include our standard metal colours, a bespoke finish, patina or texture or a sample match of any pre-existing metalwork.

If your project involves various materials such as glass, alabaster or timber, we will also send you samples for approval.

Components

On approval of the CAD drawing or pattern your design will be passed to our engineering team who break down the CAD model into every one of its component parts.

Technical drawings of each component will be made and supplied to our craftsmen for casting, machining, fabrication etc.

Once each component part has been made, they are pre-assembled, this enables both our in-house team and our client to see the piece as a whole before being dismantled for polishing and colouring. After final assembly your bespoke lighting piece will be wired according to your specifications.

Throughout the process your project manager will keep in close contact, providing you with regular updates and where possible photographs of the piece in production, assembly and on completion.

Completion

Following a final inspection by our team and yourself if you wish to visit our Foundry, your bespoke piece will be carefully prepared for dispatch.

Our team of delivery drivers will deliver directly to your project address or our dispatch manager will arrange shipping to any international location.

You will be issued with an installation guide; your project manager will also be available to discuss any queries your installation team or electrician may have.
