Private View: Our Exclusive 45 Year Anniversary Event

The 45th anniversay for Collier Webb is just around the corner (6th May), and to mark the occasion we hosted a private event at our Pimlico Road showroom on Wednesday evening. Guests had the oppurtunity to mingle with the Collier Webb team, get an exclusive preview of our upcoming new products and be the very first to explore our Foundry experience exhibition.

The event gathered a selection of our closest friends, valued clients and dedicated colleagues to celebrate the momentous milestone. With over 80 guests in attendance throughout the night, there was a energetic bustle of chatter and laughter whilst prosecco and canapes flowed from room to room.

As they walked through the front door, guests were greeted by a copious sea of Spring inpired flowers, designed and curated by floral experts, Echevaria.co. Vibrant floral arrangements could be found accessorising surfaces in each corner of the event space, creating the ideal juxtaposition to our assortment of lighting products on display.

The evening served as perfect oppurtunity to reconnect with clients and respected industry peers that we may not have had a chance to see face-to-face in recent months, as well as enable everyone to meet the team behind our sought after designs. To quench the anticaption for new products, a selection of peices from our never-before-seen collection were featured in the Garden Room for those in attendance to enjoy an exclusive preview before the official launch later this year.

As the event reached its midway point, our Deptuy Managing Director, Danielle Collier, and CEO of The Edward Alexander Group, Mark Nevill, raised a glass to the occasion and shared a few words looking back over the last 45 years and the people who made the growth of Collier Webb possible.

Mark Nevill began the speeches by introducing The Edward Alexander Group, and the pride taken in their involvment with the brand since its acquisition in 2018. He acknowleged the positive trajectory of brand performance thanks to the integrity of design featured within each and every one of our products, and expressed that it has been a 'fantastic journey' thus far and looks forward to the continued progression in our working relationship.

Following the first address, Danielle took a look back over the years that led up to that moment, in a speech that was both powerfully moving and fascinating in equal measure. Touchong on the key facotrs that formed the buissness known today as Collier Webb, we were told of how her Grandfather started the brand in 1977 simply as a woodworking hobby in a shed in his back garden, before her Father, Geoff Collier, joined forces with him. As the third-generation Collier, Danielle shared that working family, can of course, have its challenges, but is honoured to be a part of her familys legacy. We have also heard of the vital role played by Andrew Webb, whose influence continues to be seen in each aspect of the brand.

The speeches conlcuded with the Collier's gratitude for the manhy long-standing relationships forged over the years, closing with a joint thank you from both Danielle and Geoff, "My dad and I would both like to thank everyone here with us now: our clients, our colleageus, our our friends, and partners that have supported us - here's to another 45 years of Collier Webb."

The evening also marked the official launch and first- look at our exlusive exhibition, which was designed to bring the authentic Foundry experience to the luxurious London showroom. The immersive space included captivating imagery and videography from award-winning Alun Callender , as well as a selection of tools and material samples used on a daily basis in our Sussex Foundery to create our range of signature and bespoke products.

The lower gorund floor exhibits the true Foundry journey, whilst incorporating artefects found in the Collier Webb archives from over 40 years ago, when the company was still in its infancy. The exhibition was a great success amongst guests, who expressed that it gave them a new respect for the process behind the end result they receive. By following the journey of a single product from conception to completion, it allowed a shared appreciation of a single meticulous craftsmanship involved in the pieces that come through our Foundry.
