Case Study: Dries Van Noten

Set within a former bank and spanning two floors, the new Dries Van Noten Flagship store on the corner of Brook Street and Hanover Square brings together artistry, materiality and an unmistakable sense of place. We were honoured to be asked to contribute a small part to the interior of this beautifully designed space.

From our Workshop and Foundry on the Sussex Coast, we handcrafted a 1.9 metre Convex Mirror that now takes centre stage as you enter the store. The process behind this piece involves heating and shaping the glass over a mould, then hand-silvering and antiquing it to achieve the desired tone and depth. The mirror is framed in a rolled brass surround, patinated by our makers to a warm Antique Bronze.

Also made for the store were ten of our Shot Light Classic, adapted in Aged Matte Brass with clear rod detailing and made to mount onto the fitting room mirrors. A single Crespi Wall Light in the same finish completes the scheme. Like all our designs, each piece was handmade to order, with careful attention paid to the finish, tone and light quality.
