In 2018 our team of bespoke designers worked with New York-based architectural and interiors specialists, Mulberry Black to produce a custom lighting fixture that we were to manufacture at our South Coast Foundry.
The project was destined for the Four Seasons New York Downtown Private Residences in the Tribeca area of Manhattan.
Matthew Fisher, Mulberry Black’s founder, commissioned Collier Webb to create a unique set of ceiling lights using perforated spun brass, coloured in our Antique Bronze finish.
“We wanted to create a decorative lighting fixture that lowered the ceiling height and added warmth in material and light to the space. Collier Webb worked with our design and developed details to meet fabrication and project requirements. We went through a prototyping process of key finishes and details before releasing the fixture for final production.” Matthew Fisher
Three sets of eight perforated shades were created and mounted on brass arms and then onto beautifully carved Walnut cladding.
This stylish modular system utilized the large open space of the apartment whilst the Walnut and warm metal finishes worked perfectly with the apartment's other materials.
“The space is bathed in north and east light. The clients loved the natural light but were interested in bringing warmth, history and maturity to the space. We chose the palette to showcase materials that reacted beautifully in natural light as well as warm electric light.” Mathew Fisher
