This spectacular ceiling light was handcrafted for Douglas Mackie Design in 2018. Transforming the original drawings to the finished one-of-a-kind piece was an exciting challenge for our design team who oversaw every stage of the process which included a unique combination of modern technology and time-honored craft. Lost wax casting, 3D printing, machining and fabrication were just some of the techniques used to make the stunning geometric frame.
Every detail was carefully thought through from the textured glass used to ensure a beautiful finish and soft glow to the ingenious secret door to ensure practicality when bulb changes are required.
