The Lenygon design is named after Lenygon & Morant, a decorating firm established in 1909 with the specific intention of supplying antique, mainly 18th century pieces, including entire rooms and new furnishings in styles that revived the original.
This ‘revival’ design came from an original commission actually carried out by James Lamb of Manchester, who died the year before Lenygon established his first business in 1904. The Morant design was also produced for Lamb.
