COLLECT 2019: EMPOWERING MAKERS AND INSPIRING AUDIENCES

5th March 2019

Collect, the only gallery-presented art fair dedicated to modern craft and design ran for 4 days in late February at London’s Saatchi Gallery. As supporters of Collect we were privileged to gain an insight in to how this acclaimed fair empowers makers and inspires audiences.

Run by the Crafts Council and having just celebrated its fifteenth year, Collect maintains its original concept of promoting work by living artists, with all pieces being made in the last five years.

45 galleries represented the work of over 400 artists featuring a vast range of pieces, from delicate jewellery to large-scale wall hangings.

Alongside the galleries, Collect Open provided a platform for 15 individual artists to show ambitious and conceptual craft-led installations.

As part of the Pimlico Road Design District and Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, Collier Webb collaborated with Douglas Mackie to create Collect’s VIP room. Other brands involved in this exciting collaboration were our fellow Pimlico Road designers & makers, Cox London, FBC London, Luke Irwin, Soane Britain and Howe London with specialist’s gallery lighting by TM Lighting.

The room exuded luxury and exceptional craftsmanship, with a rich colour palette of deep reds, burnt orange tones and browns, creating a harmonious connection between the brand’s unique pieces.
